Magazines are here!
While I was living in Japan, I eventually had to work on the design (layout) of printed magazines. In September 2010, along with a friend of mine, we released our first independent magazine in Japan. “Revista Olé” was a Portuguese/Spanish bilingual magazine. Unfortunately, the lack of advertisers led us to give up the project.
After coming back to Brazil, I got a full time job as a graphic designer / art director for a new magazine. “Revista CarManGuia” is a regional publication which brings information about cars, and serves as a guide to great deals on new and used vehicles.

Major update for the New Year
I decided to use some of my free time on these holidays to make a major update on my website.
For starters, I have changed the design of the website. Now it is simpler, and faster to load.
Coming soon: new content on the portfolio pages.
Hope you enjoy the changes. Happy New Year!
The Aquatic Turtles Manual
I have recently updated the website for “The Aquatic Turtles Manual”, a great training program for those who want to know more about the proper procedures and techniques for exceptional caretaking of the Painted and Red-eared Slider Aquatic Turtles.
If you are somewhat interested in the subject, I suggest that you check it out: turtlemanual.com
Browsing speed
Recently I had to do a simple freelance job, using Firefox browser to measure some download speeds. I noticed that Firefox was slower than usual, and then I decided to use SpeedTest.net to do a quick test. I got surprised with the results. See for yourself:
Firefox

Chrome

Safari

Internet Explorer 8

All the tests were taken on the same day, at about the same time. I know that SpeedTest.net now is sponsored by Google Chrome, but the lack of speed when using Firefox was alarming. I recently made Chrome my default browser after more than 5 years using Firefox, and I must say that these results made me happy about that change.
Portfolio is ready
I spent the past day looking through my files and choosing which images to include in the portfolio section. Weird thing is that I always choose the same images. At least, this time the portfolio is nicely organized, split into many pages, according to the type of job.
As I intend to add more images in the future, the portfolio pages will grow larger. I might even need to create some sub-pages, like “3D Images – Part 1″, “3D Images – Part 2″, etc. Hopefully this will happen soon, meaning that I am getting lots of work. :)
New blog online
Well, after being offline for quite a while (changing hosting provider, updating WordPress, etc.), my website/blog is back online. This time I have decided to make it bilingual, in English and Portuguese. Please notice that some content will only be available in one language, depending on the subject. Anyway, I will try to post almost everything in both languages.
The general format of the website will be blog-like. By default, all comments will be subject to approval/moderation. For my professional activities, I will create pages like: resume, portfolio, etc.
Welcome, thanks for your visit, and feel free to leave suggestions and comments.
